Composition of STROKEX:

Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica L.) extract with high plant concentration, delivering 748 mg of herb equivalent in a daily intake. The most essential active ingredients of the plant is triterpenes, shown in the research to possess anti-inflammatory, healing and cardiovascular support properties (European Medicines Agency Evaluation Report on Gotu Kola EMA/HMPC/291177/2009).

Citicoline (Cytidine diphosphocholine / CDP-choline) quickly divides into choline and cytidine once administered internally. Therefore, Cyticoline delivers all the benefits of the Choline nevertheless the component of Cytidine makes Cyticoline unique. Cytidine is involved in a repeated synthesis of Choline into Phosphatidylcholine that supports growth of nerve cells’ membrane. Choline generally stabilises homocysteine levels. Homocysteine causes very dangerous damage to the vessel's endothelium. It also causes harm to low density lipoprotein (LDL cholesterol) leading to oxidation process and generation of free radicals that trigger diseases of coronary blood vessels. Elevated levels of homocysteine may increase a risk of cardiovascular diseases (myocardial infarction, stroke etc.) as well as risk of peripheral circulation diseases. Veins, capillaries and arteries are subject to detrimental impact of homocysteine, leading to life-threatening diseases as atherosclerosis, claudication and thrombosis.

Folic acid / Vitamin B9 (daily intake includes 998 µg) promotes normal amino acid synthesis, normal haematopoiesis, helps maintaining healthy homocysteine metabolism and promotes normal work of immune system as well as normal psychological functions, helps reducing tiredness and fatigue, helps with cell division.

1) Can STROKEX be taken together with other food supplements or medicines?

Strokex should not be used in combination with medications based on meclofenoxate. Citicoline in its composition also increases levodopa. Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®, Trexall®), used in the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases, is a folic acid antagonist. Patients taking methotrexate for cancer therapy should consult an oncologist before taking folic acid products, as this supplement may affect the anticancer effects of methotrexate. However, folic acid products may reduce the gastrointestinal side effects of methotrexate when used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis. Antiepileptic drugs such as phenytoin (Dilantin®), carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Tegretol®, Equetro®, Epitol®) and valproate (Depacon®) are used to treat epilepsy, mental illness, and other health problems. These medicines can reduce serum folic acid levels. Folic acid products, on the other hand, can reduce serum levels of these drugs, so patients taking antiepileptic drugs should discuss the possible use of folic acid products with their doctor. As Strokex contains a high dose of folic acid, additional use of folic acid supplements should not be considered.

2) What is homocysteine? And what does it have to do with cholesterol?

Homocysteine is a cause of very dangerous damage to the lining of blood vessels and seriously damages low-density cholesterol, leading to its oxidation and the production of free radicals that contribute to coronary artery disease. You can read more about homocysteine here: Homocysteine levels matter

3) Clariwell.com states that STROKEX may also help in the prevention of stroke and heart attack and after these conditions. Is that so?

Studies (references Under a microscope | Vascular Health) have shown that the citicoline in Strokex has been shown to have beneficial effects in a number of cases of central nervous system injury, including observations of cerebral ischaemia. It can reduce the effects of ischaemia and/or hypoxia; reduce and limit nerve cell membrane damage, restore the sensitivity and function of intracellular regulatory enzymes and limit oedema; contribute to improved attention, learning and memory performance. The active ingredients in Strokex may promote neurological function and reduce ischaemic damage around haematomas.

4) The product’s instructions state that the full course is 6 weeks and that it should only be retaken after 2 months. Why can STROKEX not be taken without any break?

The amount of active ingredients in Strokex is calculated so that the effect (reduction in homocysteine levels, improvement in fine motor skills) can be achieved after the full course (6 weeks) is completed. However, Strokex can be used for a longer period of time in agreement with your healthcare professional.

5) Why is STROKEX so expensive?

The raw materials in Strokex are expensive, and Strokex contains 84 capsules, which is a full 6-week course.

6) Will STROKEX have an immediate effect?

No, the effects of Strokex will not be immediate, as the recommended course of use is 6 weeks.

7) How will I know that STROKEX is working?

To understand if Strokex is right for you and is working, we recommend that you have a blood test before and after taking Strokex to check your homocysteine levels.

8) Is it obligatory to consult a doctor before taking STROKEX?

No, this is not obligatory, but we recommend it if you have any medical conditions, are taking medication or are under the supervision of a doctor.

9) Can STROKEX be addictive?

No, Strokex does not cause addiction.

10) Can there be a situation where there is no effect from STROKEX? Can this happen and why?

This should not happen, but there are some cases where Strokex may not give the expected result. For example, folic acid usually starts to work after a few hours, but if you have anaemia caused by folate deficiency, it may take a few weeks before you start to feel better. Sometimes your body may not be able to absorb the ingredients in Strokex as efficiently as it should, and this is called malabsorption. This is usually due to an underlying condition affecting your digestive system, such as coeliac disease. Some studies suggest that some people may have genetic changes that may affect the mechanisms of effect of folic acid or choline. To make sure that Strokex is right for you, we recommend that you take a blood test.

11) Can STROKEX be used together with other CLARIWELL products?

Yes, Strokex can be used with other Clariwell products.
