Quality and Safety

Entire product range of SIA “Clariwell” is manufactured in Latvia. An inscription “Manufactured in Latvia” designate not only the geographical origin but serves also as a quality assurance. Food supplements of SIA “Clariwell” strictly comply with Latvian and EU legislation and requirements stated by Latvian food and health protection authorities.

Our food supplements are manufactured by the same manufacturing team. Therefore, all equipment and product manufacturing processes comply with strict rules laid down by the same food product safety management system (HACCP) for food supplements. The plant has received ISO 22000 certificate “Food Safety Management System”.

Food safety, including safety of food supplements and possible hazards is of huge importance for anyone. A consumer wants to be sure that their food supplements come from safe and known origins. Any company engaged in food supplement circulation must be responsible for the safety and perform self-assessment of risks in line with the standards.

Therefore, all people working in the production operations are trained to apply identical procedures for quality, hygiene and documentation, regardless of which product is being manufactured. It allows using a standard that ensures great product quality.

Raw materials

SIA “Clariwell” cooperates with the manufacturer and uses raw materials from suppliers which can satisfy the highest quality demands. Each raw material must meet certain specifications. It applies not only to the active ingredients but also to additives and packaging. Plant’s management and manager of quality control regularly visit all raw material suppliers and individually inspect their manufacturing premises and equipment.

All raw materials are registered and supplied with unique batch numbers in order to ensure traceability across the manufacturing chain.

After careful examination and packaging of raw materials they are sent to the manufacturing plant. Non-conforming products are returned to supplier or destroyed.

Manufacturing

In order to ensure complete traceability, all products are given a unique batch number. Before entering the production premises, the production staff puts on a work smock, hairnet and clean footwear in a special dressing room, and wash their hands thoroughly.

All premises have slightly elevated pressure to prevent penetration of polluting particles from outside.

All production staff must wear gloves when taking any actions involving direct contact with products, such as weighing and sampling.

Random samples are taken during manufacturing process and tested, and the finished products are carefully analysed, for example, for microbiological markers.

The manufacturer controls quality of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products. Within the framework of control procedures, the department assesses documentation of product batches, results of process control and results of analyses against the defined parameters. If all requirements fulfil, the products are released for sale. Otherwise, they are destroyed.

The equipment is cleaned after each manufacturing cycle by removing all traces of previous product. Cleaning procedure is very time-consuming. It takes from 6 to 24 hours to prepare one equipment for a new manufacturing cycle.

Efficiency of all cleaning procedures in the manufacturing plant is scrupulously tested in order to fully rule out a possibility of product contamination. The cleaning process is controlled and documented in control lists.
