Apple - oat layered dessert

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g apples
  • 125ml water
  • 125g sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 240g wholegrain rolled oats
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 250ml whipping cream
  • butter

PREPARATION

Cut apples in 4 parts, remove the core, put in a pot, pour boiling water and simmer on a slow heat until soft. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice, mix, wait until the jam starts bubbling, remove from the stove and set aside to cool.

Melt butter on a frying pan (it must be clean and dry before using), place remaining sugar and rolled oats and fry stirring all the time until crunchy caramel forms, season with cinnamon, then place on a plate and let it cool.

Mix the whipping cream until it forms stiff peaks.

Place layers of jam, whipped cream and rolled oats in a transparent tray. You can also layer them in dessert bowls. Garnish with berries and fruits.
